Why Frontline BioEnergy
Technical Approachs
- Fluid bed gasification allows conversion of difficult fibrous feedstocks such as corn stover and switchgrass, and handles variation in feedstock quality better than other types of gasification. The fluid media bed also acts as ballast, allowing for an amount of contamination in the feed. Furthermore, the process is inherently suited to larger scales.
- Gas Cleanup: Frontline’s proprietary CLEANGAS™ technology solves the usual tar production challenges of fluid bed gasifiers. Limiting tars in the gas allows piping over some distance to multiple gas appliances.
- Retrofit-ability: When installing a Frontline Gasification system in an existing facility, there is no need to add new solid fuel boilers or change out dryers. The burner in the gas appliance will need changed to accommodate higher flow rates of our “producer gas,” but the original equipment can typically be reused.

Engineering Capability
Frontline utilizes high-end engineering tools for modeling and analyzing systems and processes before construction:
- ASPEN Plus™ – modeling of chemical and thermal processes
