Electric Power Generation
Internal Combustion Engines
By adding Frontline BioEnergy’s gas clean-up equipment, internal combustion engines can be used for power generation. Internal combustion engines provide for much higher electrical generation efficiencies and make sense for small scale (10-20MWe) projects. Our pressurized gasification system allows for triple the turn-down ration of other biomass gasifiers. This allows the system to handle the varying loads of the gen-sets and still operate at the most efficient rate.
Repowering Utility Boilers
Frontline Bioenergy has a compelling solution for repowering coal-fired utility boilers. Repowering boilers with producer gas derived from biomass allows a greater percentage of the fuel to be from a renewable source, without fouling, slagging, corrosion, or increased emissions concerns. Modification to the boiler is minimal, so downtime is minimized, and the boiler is typically not de-rated for capacity.
High Pressure Steam Turbines
Frontline BioEnergy’s gasification system with steam turbines offers the highest reliability and operational utilization of any biomass system on the market. In comparison to other fuels, the ability to fire a clean producer gas enables our technology to maintain a significantly higher utilization and lower operating cost than other biomass gasifiers.
With a Frontline BioEnergy gasification system, your facility’s steam turbine will operate at the highest level of utilization possible, often exceeding 95%. With hot gas efficiency reaching 90% and removal of 99.9% of particulates, Frontline BioEnergy provides the best solution for firing high pressure boilers.
